Sustainable Development Goals
Our sustainability efforts and pillars are based on the United Nations’ sustainability goals, called the Sustainable Development Goals. The UN created these goals to join hands for strategies for greater equality, less poverty and protection of life, among other things. At Majestic, we want to contribute to that. In particular, we focus on the goals below.
DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
We value the well-being of our employees and that of our suppliers. That is why our quality assurance team at Bunzl Shanghai conducts periodic audits of our suppliers. During these audits, we check whether parties adhere to our standards in terms of quality and social responsibility. Our suppliers are also bound by our code of conduct.
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
The biggest impact of our business is in the production and consumption of our products. Therefore, it is important to examine all the different parts of this. We are researching more sustainable alternatives for our materials and expanding the range of environmentally friendly products. We are also committed to informing our customers as much as possible on the use of our products, so that they last longer.
CLIMATE ACTION
In our business operations, we want to minimize our impact on the climate as much as possible. Therefore, we want to reduce our CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030. To this end, we not only look at our own emissions, but also chart the emissions of our suppliers. In all these processes, we are continuously evaluating what alternatives there are to reduce our impact.
PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS
To really take steps for a better future, we will have to cooperate and act with others. We cannot do this alone. That is why we have a lot of contact with our chain partners, knowledge institutes and Bunzl sister companies. With these parties we actively share knowledge and see where and how certain steps can be taken for a more sustainable future.
