Why an uncomfortable mask can be dangerous

It is a quiet Monday morning and you are in the workshop machining a piece of wood. The sawdust flies through the air and shines in the light. You are in a kind of magical state of mind. You feel perfectly happy.

Unconsciously, you reach for the mask on your face. It feels like it is a bit difficult to breathe. Very briefly, you pull it up and take a deep breath. It seems harmless. Maybe just a few seconds. But if you have to wear a mask for the task at hand, you are never meant to take it off for a moment.
