The Matane and the Dronten
The hi-vis T-shirt Matane is a comfortable T-shirt made of the very light and airy Sio-Cool® Light fabric. The polyester fibers guarantee the rapid removal of the absorbed moisture so that perspiration does not accumulate but quickly reaches the surface. For optimal ventilation and an even fresher feeling, the armpits have been provided with a mesh fabric.

The Dronten hi-vis polo ensures your visibility, protects you against industrial hazards and absorbs perspiration and transports it away from your skin, leaving you feeling dry and comfortable. In addition, the polo meets class 3 (from size M) of the EN ISO 20471 standard for high-visibility clothing.

Due to the large amount of fluorescent orange and the specific pattern of the reflective material, both the T-shirt and the polo also meet the Dutch RWS standard (road and rail workers) and the British standard RIS-3279-TOM for high-visibility clothing in the railway industry.

The Corran is a trendy hi-vis sweater with segmented reflective tape that offers ARC protection. The bi-colour sweater is equipped with two side pockets with zip closure and has anti-microbial properties, convenient in hazardous situations! Price changes as of February 1, 2022

At the end of 2021, we sent our prices for the first quarter of 2022. We indicated that further price increases had to be taken into account. Unfortunately, we are currently already confronted with such increases that we cannot prevent an interim price change for a number of products.

In order to provide insight and guidance in any communication to customers, we would like to briefly take you through the developments that cause this:

The price increases are the result of various factors. The most important of these are the cost of raw materials, rising energy costs, unfavorable exchange rates and the cost of container transport.

Cotton has become about 50% more expensive in 1 year and the prices of polyester fluctuate strongly. Where in 2020 the price for transport per container was still around USD 2,000, this will be USD 13,800 in January 2022.

Finally, the pandemic has caused a severe shortage of certain products. This and the fact that extra production is hampered by lockdowns and staff shortages creates scarcity. And we’ve all learned where scarcity leads!

The main increases relate to products from:

3M™ – When did you last change your filters?

Respirator filters do not last forever. Once a gas and vapour filter has been used to its full capacity, it will no longer offer any protection. An overused particulate filter will still protect you, but it will be hard to breathe through, leading to fatigue and reduced productivity.

The life of a filter can be affected by a number of factors, including the type of filter, concentration of contaminants in the air, respiration rate, humidity and temperature.

The best practice is to establish a filter replacement schedule with a specified period of time after which filters must be replaced. This period is best determined using objective data and a life estimation tool such as 3M Service Life software. Alternatively, a filter replacement schedule can be developed based on the typical breakthrough times for gas and vapor filters, or the fill times for particulate filters, at your workplace, applying a safety margin. However, this method is less accurate because it relies on human senses, which are subjective and variable.

Are you changing your filters often enough?

As a very minimum, filters must be changed when:

• You can taste or smell the contaminant when wearing the respirator correctly (gas and vapour or combination filters);
• The filter becomes difficult to breathe through (particulate or combination filters);
• The expiry date of the filter has passed;
• The filter has been out of its packaging for 6 months or more (gas and vapour or combination filters);
• The filter shows any signs of damage.

Adjusted delivery times in December. 

December has arrived again! With Christmas and New Year’s around the corner, we will have to make some adjustments in December. Therefore, at the end of December and the beginning of January, keep the following in mind:

• Orders from Wednesday 29 December to 14:00 will be delivered on Thursday 30 December;
• Orders from Wednesday 29 December after 14:00 will be delivered on Tuesday 4 January;
• The order processing process in the DC will be paused from December 29, 14:00 to January 2;

Price Development 2022

Prices are currently constantly evolving. Factors such as container prices, exchange rates, energy costs, raw material prices and availability cause the cost prices of PPE products to rise. This is expected to be no different during the first quarter of 2022.

Due to smart purchasing, Majestic tries to keep the prices stated in the price list as stable as possible. However, we will be forced to make interim price changes if the factors mentioned have a disproportionately large impact on the cost price. Majestic does its utmost to continue to (pro)actively inform customers about this.
