In practice, it is often not. 40% of employees wear the wrong type of PPE. Choosing the right type of hearing protection and using it correctly is essential in order to provide the necessary protection.

The importance of durable hearing protection.

Did you know that hearing damage as a result of noise is one of the most common occupational diseases in the Netherlands? This can be prevented by simply wearing the right hearing protection. When working in a noisy environment, hearing protection is essential. The use of hearing protection is determined by law at a limit value of 85 dB(a) and above. Hearing protection is of enormous importance in preventing hearing damage and providing lasting protection for the ears. Once hearing damage has been caused, it often cannot be reversed. Therefore, make sure that you protect your ears properly against noise. When do you choose earplugs or when do you choose ear muffs? That depends entirely on the situation.

40% of the employees wear incorrectly chosen PPE. This can lead to hearing damage. Choosing the right type of hearing protection and using it correctly is essential in order to provide the necessary protection. Since 2016, harmful noise has been officially recognised as an irreversible health risk with the new PPE regulation. This places hearing protection in the same high risk category (3) as respiratory protection and fall protection.*

Sustainable hearing protection solutions

Sustainability is also an important aspect today. We are all familiar with the disposable earplugs that are thrown away after one use. However, there are also sustainable alternatives to hearing protection. Consider, for example, the Flexible Fit earplugs from 3M. These earplugs are made from a durable material and can last up to 2 weeks. This is not only a win-win situation for the cost per use, but also for the environment and the sustainable protection of your ears. The reusable E-A-R Ultrafit earplugs are also a good alternative because you can use them several times and thus reduce waste.

Both systems are approved with the same S-series and M-series headgear.
3M™ Versaflo™ motor-driven respiratory systems operate with easily replaceable filters. An advantage of the 3M™ Versaflo™ system over the 3M™ Jupiter system is that only one system filter needs to be changed instead of two.

No. 3M™ Versaflo™ filters are specifically designed for use with 3M™ Versaflo™ motor-driven respirators. The filters are not interchangeable.

Can I use my current S-series and M-series hoods with 3M™ Versaflo™ engine powered respirators?
Yes. The TR-300E+, TR-600E and TR-800E series 3M™ Versaflo™ powered respirators are approved for use with the S and M series.

Can I use my current Versaflo™ breathing hoses with 3M™ Versaflo™ motor-driven breathing systems and 3M™ Versaflo™ headgear?
