Sustainable operations
Goal: “Majestic minimizes CO2 emissions, energy consumption and waste streams from both itself and supply chain partners, while also promoting transparency and climate action in the supply chain.”
To reduce the negative impact of our business operations, we are committed to reducing our CO2 emissions, energy consumption and waste streams. We are also taking steps to make our chain more transparent and encourage our suppliers to scrutinize their own operations.
Reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions
To use energy more efficiently and economically, we identify opportunities to take steps in this topic. With the help of more energy-efficient equipment and time-controlled systems, we have already been able to make great strides.
To reduce our CO2 emissions, for example, we are choosing more sustainable transportation options together with our transport partners, such as shipping with biofuels or electric road transport. In addition, we are planting trees together with Forest Nation to offset unavoidable emissions.
Minimizing waste streams
To reduce our waste streams, we look critically at our processes. For example, we try to reuse as much transport packaging as possible and actively reduce the use of padding materials. We also look critically at the amount of packaging we add to our products. For example, in the packaging of our OXXA gloves, we have eliminated plastic and minimized the amount of material.
Our ambition is to make our logistics as plastic-free as possible and minimize packaging.
Chain Responsibility
We use selection criteria for our suppliers in two areas:
- Quality and competence, such as: facility maintenance, quality controls, various inspections and packaging;
- Social responsibility, such as: no child and forced labour, health and safety, discrimination, working time and hygiene standards.
We also have a “Code of Conduct” that all our suppliers must sign. Every year, our quality assurance control team in Shanghai conducts audits of suppliers to continue to guarantee this quality and care.
In addition to these audits, we also survey other sustainability measures and performance of our suppliers. This gives us a clear picture of our entire supply chain and where risks and opportunities lie.
